Regis Learning Solutions, in Partnership with CH2M Hill, Launches Phase Two of a Comprehensive Learning Program for the Colorado DOT

DENVER, May 1, 2009—Working in partnership with CH2M Hill, Regis Learning Solutions (RLS), a leading provider of custom and ready-to-deploy business simulations and other experiential learning solutions, recently launched phase two of a comprehensive leadership development program for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).

Development of the CDOT’s “Transportation Engineering Training Program” first began in 2006. The program includes two phases.

The first phase, which was completed in 2007, consisted of an overview of various transportation engineering disciplines, including traffic, safety, hydraulics, geotechnical, environmental, structure design, geometric design, landscape design, project estimating, utility coordination, executive management, pavement and materials, survey and right of way, and construction management.

Phase two of the program includes the development of five in-depth modules covering subject matter areas tailored toward individual segments of CDOT. Module topics will include critical path methodology, roadway design, reading structural plans, drainage design, and construction project administration.

The first module of phase two (entitled “Critical Path Methodology”), was rolled out in early 2009. The remaining four phase-two modules will be released over the next 11 months.

“This is a one-of-a-kind program that is geared toward improving efficiencies for the CDOT,” says Arlo D. Grady, director of business development for RLS. “Through this program, CDOT is also distinguishing itself as an employer of choice for transportation professionals.”
